Coachella Fashion Trends

Over the past two weekends, the Coachella Music Festival brought great music, shocking moments (including a performance by Tupac’s hologram!?), and of course fabulous fashions to the California desert.   Bohemian chic was all the rage at the music festival as fringe, tribal prints, and tunics ruled the desert.  Check out some of our favorite looks below:

Which look is your favorite?

Accessorize yourself

If you all haven’t noticed I am all about accessories. It can be cute tights, killer shoes, funky necklaces or simple studs I love it all. My latest obsessions happen to be belts and headbands.

Belts literally can liven up any outfit with a pop while enhancing your natural curves. They aren’t just for your pants anymore! In fact it’s more trendy not to wear them over clothes so they are on display. They come in all shapes and sizes and can work with sweaters, dresses, and button downs. As per usual some of my favs come from Forever 21.

And of course Accessories By ASH!

Headbands also liven up a drab outfit and look great in any hair color! Check out these awesome ones from Accessories By ASH!

Love Knots

So we all know that love hurts……..but love also knots when it comes to these great vintage brass knot earrings.

They come in all different patterns and sizes, but remain at the low price of $18 dollars.  With vintage flair, they make a great mother’s gift or maybe a “just because” gift.  Purchase them here: http://www.accessoriesbyash.com/shop-jewelry/chain/knot-earrings/#cc-m-product-5413975569

And here’s something ot look forward to:

Knot earrings painted in neon colors!  I’ll post when these are ready.

Who’s your 90’s celeb crush?

Is it just me or are all the gossip mags talking about Titanic 3D like it’s a new movie and they don’t know how it will end? Don’t get me wrong I was a big fan of the flick as a 13 year old girl and dragged my mom and/or friends to the theater multiple times to see Leo and Kate fall hopelessly in love(and yes, I still watch parts of it when it is on TV and still cry) , but I’m not sure why it is such a huge deal some 15 years later. The movie hasn’t changed and Rose still let’s Jack go in the end.

With that being said, it is hard not relive the days where I was in love with Leonardo DiCaprio (poster on the ceiling above my bed and all.)

Tres Sugar posted a video recently about what your 90’s celeb crush says about you. Not sure what it means that I was in love with all these boys…

April Showers Bring May Flowers

As Spring rolls in a few things, some good some bad, always seem to come with it.

Good: Flowers, sunshine, cute flats.

Bad: Allergies, unpredictable temperatures (one day it’s hot one day it’s cold), and RAIN!

I don’t know about you but I have a hard time rolling out of bed to go to work in the morning when outside my window are dark skies, clouds, and torrential downpours. And while I would like to stay home, watch movies, and call in sick every time it rains, that just isn’t possible. So I have to perk up those rainy days with a little rain-proof fashion.

First let’s start with the umbrella (ella ella eh eh eh-Rihanna anyone?).

They’re are so many types of umbrellas to choose from. You have the small one that fits in your purse so you always have it. The GIANT golf umbrella that you hit everyone with as you are walking. The funky animal face or flower prints. And my favorite The bubble umbrella. Seeing as I walk to work this is one of my favorite rainy day accessories. It not only keeps the majority of my body dry, but it prevents the wind from whipping rain into my face as I’m walking the streets of Manhattan. Target has some of the best options for these for a pretty decent price.

Next comes the rain boots. Again you have your classic styles (Hunters are probably the best because they keep your feet warm too!)

If you can’t afford those Target does have some nice simple options as well. They also sell liners to keep your feet nice and warm too.

And if you are willing to go all out, Hunter is actually making more fashionable rain boots now. With these you don’t have to feel like you have to change your shoes when you get to work!

Hopefully all these fun accessories will help you get out of bed on a rainy day, if not, there’s nothing wrong with taking one or two sick days :)
